Meet the Peacock: Tick’s swagger bird type

Meet the Eagle: Tick’s sharp bird type
February 20, 2026

For the Peacock personality bird type, life is about truly living – soaking up every moment, every experience, and every opportunity that comes their way. It's all for the spirit of adventure, where fun prevails above all else and the pursuit of joy is never far from mind.

Peacocks believe, with absolute conviction, that you only get one chance at life. They're not wrong. This is a 'bigger than life' personality. Bold, vibrant, and impossible to overlook.

It's hard to miss a Peacock.

Their energy is infectious and so is their outlook. They see opportunities where others see obstacles, and they leap where others hesitate. They're the 'go big or go home' type – and they wouldn't have it any other way. Peacocks need to be recognised. Not out of vanity, but because being truly seen is what makes life feel worth living to them.

Here are some other tell-tale signs you're in the company of a Peacock (or you're one yourself).

The traits of a Peacock

Style: Confident, warm, and friendly
Face: Expressive and animated
Voice: Strong and colourful
Body Language: Lots of dramatic and sweeping gestures

Clothes: Flamboyant, colourful, fashionable, designer labels, wears ‘look at me’ jewellery
Life View: ‘Everything’s coming up roses’
Attitude: Easy going. Peacocks seem to have all the time in the world and can talk the leg off of a chair

Sayings: “Today is the first day of the rest of your life”

Car: A ‘look at me car’, usually red. Peacocks love red Porsches!

How to engage with a Peacock

Do:

  • Like talking about themselves (note: it’s enthusiasm, not ego)
  • Love to exaggerate everything
  • Are emotional
  • Like to touch and cuddle
  • Like to have fun… and bring you along for the ride
  • Are unorganised
  • Can get really down, when they're down.

 Don't:

  • Expect them to take a logical approach
  • Lock them into repetitious tasks and environments (it’s like caging a bird)
  • Always expect them to listen long (or be quiet)
  • Expect them to let you have the last word
  • Try to make them stay home. The world is their oyster.

The performer, the showman (or woman)

Peacocks are confident and friendly. In conflicts, they're noisy and dramatic.

This bird type is more bark than bite. Behind all the noise and theatrics, there's rarely any real malice. They feel things loudly and express them even louder, but it tends to blow over just as quickly as it flared up.

Under stress, Peacocks are apologetic and friendly but can become manipulative. 'I was only joking' is a common statement. This is their signature way of smoothing things over without fully owning them.

It's worth being aware of this pattern, while also understanding it usually comes from a place of discomfort rather than deliberate deception.

The good news is, Peacocks love to solve problems. They won't just leave something unresolved and let tension fester quietly in the background. That's simply not their style. If anything, they'll create closure by saying: 'let's just forget it and move past on.' It's not always the deepest resolution, but it's genuine.

They'd rather laugh, hug it out, and get back to enjoying life than hold a grudge. We all love these people. This impulse to reconnect and restore harmony makes Peacocks great teammates.

They’re enthusiastic, generous, and fiercely loyal when they're in your corner. Their positivity is contagious, their energy is motivating, and their belief that things will work out has a way of making it so.

Once you know what to look for, you'll start spotting Peacocks everywhere… the colleague who turns every meeting into a performance, the friend who somehow makes every plan feel like an event, the family member who fills every room with noise and warmth in equal measure.
