The big 4 selling buttons (that any personality can adopt)

We’ve all heard the saying: Happy wife, happy life. The same theory can apply to your team, too. A happy, collaborative team will be more efficient and results-driven.

It’s easy to push aside team-building activities, especially when resources are stretched, and people are working remotely.

However, there are exercises that you can do to improve communication, morale, motivation, productivity, and conversations. Helping employees to get to know each other and learn how to truly collaborate is beneficial for every business, especially training companies.

You want to make sure the activities are more like games. Encourage your team to let their hair down and have fun. This is an important part of the process, because without fun, it’ll just be another task on their to-do list. The lessons will be missed.

Depending on the size of your team, choose one of these four popular team building strategies:

  1. Communication activities
  2. Problem solving
  3. Adaptability
  4. Building trust

Let’s say we’re looking to build friendships within our team. You could create a communication game, such as an ‘icebreaker’ activity. Ask your team to shut their eyes and ponder on the best moment in their life. Guide them through this. Tell them that it could be a moment they’ve had with their partner, a time abroad, or any other exciting life adventure.

Now, pose this question: If you could do it all over again, what moment would you replay? Each team member will share this moment with the group. It’s meant to be an intimate exercise that brings your people closer – by learning about each other’s passions, loves, and personalities.

This game is beneficial to play every time you have someone new on your team. It helps introduce the newbie, as well as build on the friendships currently within the team.

No one likes office politics. Avoid it. Build your team up instead.

While we’re on the topic of personalities, let’s talk team dynamics.

Dysfunctional teams often relate to the mix of personalities. Why not use your Tick products to diffuse difficult situations? Resolving arguments could be as simple as using different language.

Reduce conflict by helping your team members to understand each other better. Then, once everyone is done, spend a couple of hours sharing the results in a circle.

You’ll uncover things like personality and leadership styles, natural team roles, who’s good at time management (and who needs help), and the ‘salesperson’ personalities. These results will help your team know more about each other, so tasks can be assigned to the right person(ality).
