It’s easy to misread confidence as arrogance or gentleness as being a ‘pushover.’ The Tick bird types remind us that we’re all different – and what we perceive isn’t always true.

THE PEACOCK:

Style: Confident, warm and friendly 
Face: Expressive and animated
Voice: Strong and colourful
Body Language: Lots of dramatic and sweeping gestures

Clothes: Flamboyant, colourful, fashionable, designer labels, wears “look at me” jewellery
Life View: “Everything’s coming up roses"
Attitude: Easy going. They seem to have all the time in the world and can talk the leg off of a chair

Sayings: “Today is the first day of the rest of your life"

Car: A “look at me car,” usually red. They love red Porsches!

 

THE DOVE:

Style: Shy, warm and friendly
Face: Expressive and animated, reflects what the other person is saying while listening intently
Voice: Soft and calming
Body Language: Lots of hand gestures, but not dramatic
Clothes: Pastel to brighter colours, but nothing too outlandish
Life View: “Caring and sharing with others is what it’s all about" 
Attitude: Easy going. They seem rarely rushed and will spend all the time in the world listening to your problems
Sayings: “People are important" 
Car: A “good reliable family vehicle,” usually blue, maroon, or white. They love the Toyota Corolla!

THE EAGLE:

Style: Confident, fast and businesslike
Face: Gives little away
Voice: Strong and forceful
Body Language: Very little
Clothes: Conservative “no frills.” Black, charcoal and grey colours preferred. 

Life View: “Let’s get a result" 
Attitude: “Let’s get down to business.” Quick and abrupt, they always seem to have more important people than you they need to talk to.
Sayings: “What’s the bottom line?”
Car: Conservative, but prestige and powerful. They love the big four-wheel drives!

 

THE OWL:

Style: Cool, withdrawn, conservative
Face: Poker face – little expression
Voice: Quiet and monotoned
Body Language: Very little
Clothes: Ultra-conservative, usually brown, fawn, or autumn colours

Life View: “What can go wrong, will go wrong" 

Attitude: “What’s the catch?” Aloof and “offish,” they always seem to give the impression that they would rather be doing something else than be talking to you 

Sayings: “Fools rush in where wise men fear to tread" 

Car: A “good safe, reliable car,” usually brown, or white. They love the Volvo!
